If you have the chance to personalise something of yours, let it be your phone case! It is one of the only accessories you constantly always have on and with you. This is why, it would be a very cool piece to have it be custom made just by you. If you make it even more personalised, you can even brag to your friends and family about having a personalised iPhone 14 case. The only thing you’ll have to be worried about is making a design so cute that other people will ask you to design them one too. Well, there is one more thing you should worry about. Creating a personalised phone case that absolutely does not give iconic, pizazz, creativity, or anything good. This is why we created this list of do’s and don’ts to keep in your mind while you personalise your phone case.
Do choose a style you like
It’s obviously important for you to enjoy the design you choose. It is your phone case after all. If you find it cute and fun to mix and match a few different styles for the design of your phone case, then go for it! Just make sure any and all style combinations you choose to appeal to you and look pleasant to your eyes. A cool style combo could be video game styled stickers with realism styled stickers.
Don’t choose a singular picture for the entire phone case
If you google customised phone cases, there are a select few that show the case with one stock image blown up on the back. It does not matter how cute the image is, having it as the sole design of your phone case will not be a good idea. Not only is it not creative, but you could have just added that picture as your phone background instead.
Do have coordinating colours
It would be a total eyesore if your case is filled with all these colours that have nothing to do with each other and don’t look good together. Some examples include pairing multiple neon colours together, black and navy (basically any dark colours paired with other dark colours), red and purple, and the list goes on. Make sure you do some basic colour theory research if your personalised case will portray lots of colours. Examples of colours that do look good together are royal blue and peach, lavender and teal, bright red and off-white, and more.
Don’t have a basic design
There are some designs that have been so overdone that if you choose to add them to your phone case, it will just look like any other mass-produced nightmare. If you want to personalise something, the best advice anyone can give you is to be original. If you aren’t and you just rip off a design you see online that you really like, why not just buy the case you want to begin with? If you are doing so for price reasons, sorry to disappoint but it will not turn out exactly as your dream phone case. So might as well get creative and put in the work for something you’ll love and isn’t sold everywhere already.
